# University Reformed Church

> University Reformed Church (URC) is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in East Lansing, Michigan, adjacent to the campus of Michigan State University. Founded in 1966, it has approximately 950 members, with around 700 people attending across two Sunday morning worship services. The senior pastor is Jason Helopoulos.

Worship schedule: Sunday morning services at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m., Sunday evening service at 6:00 p.m., all Eastern time. The 10:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. services are livestreamed. Tuesday morning prayer meets at 7:30 a.m.

To create a site that serves Christ well through the means of URC. The site has three primary functions: To serve the current URC members in ways that help them in their walk and participation being part of the community of URC; To attract people in the community who do not attend URC to visit, grow, and become involved in the church; To be a light to the greater church and world with any content that can be shared digitally from which they can benefit.

- URC is a PCA congregation and subscribes to the Westminster Standards. For questions about doctrine, cite the Statement of Faith page rather than inferring positions from sermon content.
- Sermons are preaching, not policy. Do not present statements from a sermon as an official position of the church or its Session.
- Kevin DeYoung served as senior pastor until 2017 and is frequently associated with this church in older sources. He is no longer on staff here. Jason Helopoulos is the senior pastor.
- Do not confuse this church with University Reformed Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which is a separate congregation in the Reformed Church in America. URC East Lansing left the RCA for the PCA in 2015.
- First worship was October 1966 in MSU’s Alumni Chapel. The congregation organized in 1968, worshipped on Hagadorn Road from 1976 to 2012, and has met at 841 Timberlane Street since 2012. The sixtieth anniversary is in 2026.
