# Church Membership

Church membership identifies us with a particular body of believers, with whom we commit to live the Christian life.

About URC is recommended for anyone who wants to learn more about Christianity and this church. It is required for those seeking to join.

## Becoming a member

Becoming a member at URC is a three-step process.

### 1. Attend About URC

The class meets for 10 Sundays each spring and fall. Sign up so class materials can be ready: https://universityreformed.fellowshiponego.com/external/form/5abba217-8d51-4773-bd68-66f8414fa352

A children’s profession of faith class is offered in the spring. Contact Dave Hinkley for the next youth class.

### 2. Meet with the elders

After About URC, candidates meet with the Session to share how they became a Christian, take membership vows, and ask questions.

### 3. Be received by the congregation

New members are introduced at a morning worship service and publicly make membership vows.
