MRN Soccer Camp Outreach

Sandram Phiri, one of our MRN Fellows, has completed his studies and will return to Malawi at the beginning of October. Sandram has held soccer camps in Malawi and here at URC and plans to continue this kind of outreach when he returns to Malawi. Many Malawi communities have only one (old) soccer ball or use compacted plastic bags and ropes to form a soccer ball. We would like to collect funds to purchase soccer balls that could be used for camps and then leave them behind so the community could use them when the camp is over. The Missions Committee, along with the Diaconate, are encouraging donations to enable Sandram to purchase the soccer balls back in Malawi. The cost of each ball ranges from about $20-40.
