Women’s Ministry
at University Reformed Church
Women’s Ministry at URC is a place for women of all ages to connect and grow in their faith, so that they may be further equipped to minister to their families, their church, and their community.
We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, His power, and the wonders He has done… so that the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget His deeds but would keep His commands. – Psalm 78:4, 6-7
Women’s Christmas Tea
Our annual Christmas Tea takes place each December.
Women’s Retreat
Our Women’s Retreats usually occur every other winter. Our next retreat will likely be winter of 2028.
Book and Bible Studies (throughout the school year)
Women’s Doctrine Study
Every other Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 am, we enjoy a time of fellowship in reading and discussing various theological books. Please contact Katie Imeson for more information about our Women’s Doctrine Study and Jen Vanderwey with any childcare questions.
Take Heart Fellowship
Take Heart (John 16:33) – Wednesday morning fellowship is a group for women mid 40s and up (post young children). It is a place to connect and fellowship with Christ as our center. We get to know each other, spend time focusing on a Bible-based book or Bible passage, share prayer requests, and generally encourage one another to glorify God. We would love to have you join us! Take Heart meets at the Lansing Chinese Christian Church (3654 Okemos Rd., Okemos ) from 9:00-11:00 a.m. every other Wednesday (opposite Wednesday’s from Doctrine Study). Contact Dawn Gawel with any questions.
Evening Bible Study
An evening Bible study meets from 7:00 – 8:30 pm the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, and also the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Please contact Katie Young for more information. There are several other women’s small group Bible studies that meet on various days and times.
