So happy to see you all here. What a privilege it is for us to be able to sit under the preaching of God's word today. I look forward to sitting under it with you, even as I preach it. I invite you to open your Bibles with me to Psalm 146. You can, if you're using a page, uh, a Pew Bible, you can find that on page 5 25. Uh, the last sermon I preached in the morning here at URC was back in June, preached from Psalm 145. So I thought, let's just go on to the next one. So here we are today at Psalm 146. And, uh, you may notice as we read through this psalm, you've already read this psalm once today. In fact, you've sung this psalm. We sang hallelujah. Praise Jehovah. So before we read it again, let's ask the Lord for his, uh, help and his blessing. Oh Lord, we humbly ask that you would illuminate this scripture that we would understand, understand it, that we would love it and cherish it, that we would practice it. Stir our hearts to greater praise. We pray for you are worthy of all the praise we can give. And even more, let the words of my mouth and the meditations of all our hearts be pleasing in your sight. Oh Lord, our rock and our redeemer. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Psalm 146, listen carefully, for this is God's word. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Oh my soul. I will praise the Lord. As long as I live, I will sing praises to my God while I have my being put. Not your trust in princes, in a son of man in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth on that very day, his plans perish. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth the sea and all that is in them. Who keeps faith forever. Who executes.
